The Drâa-Tafilalet region, whose capital is located in the city of Errachidia, was established in accordance with decree n ° 2.15.10 of February 20, 2015,

This region has administrative boundaries with:

The regions of Fez-Meknes and the region of Béni Mellal-Khénifra
North ;
The Oriental region in the East;
The regions of Marrakech-Safi and the region of Souss-Massa in the West
Algeria to the East and South.

ERRACHIDIA

The province of Errachidia, formerly known as the province of Ksar Es-Souk, is primarily a rural province located in the Moroccan region of Dra Tafilalt, and it holds the distinction of being the largest in terms of area. Renowned for its rich cultural heritage, the city of Errachidia embodies the architectural and urban legacy of the past. This heritage encompasses historical landmarks such as the remnants of Sijilmassa and the Mausoleum of Ali Cherif, as well as various ksours (fortified villages) including Ksar El Fida, Ksar Ouled Abdelhalim, Ksar Abouaam, Maadid, and Ksar Meski.

ZAGORA

Zagora is a city in Morocco located in the Drâa-Tafilalet region in South East of Morocco. It is close to the desert, and the landscape takes on a mineral splendor whose brilliance of its surroundings reflecting onto the buildings. Covering a total area of 2,180,307 Ha it is bounded to the north by the province of Ouarzazate, to the east by that of Errachidia, to the south-west by the province of Tata and to the south-east by the Algerian-Moroccan borders, with a population of 65,000.

TINGHIR

Tinghir, also known as Tinerhir in Tamazight: It has been the capital of the province of Tineghir since Its establishment in 2009, and was previously part of the province of Ouarzazate. Its name comes from the Tamazight tine ghir, the place (tine) of the mountain (ighir, shoulder or crest). The area is highly favored by climbers due to its cliffs, some of which can reach heights of 300 meters. These walls are very well equipped but a significant number remain untouched and await exploration.

OUARZAZATE

Ouarzazate is a city located in south of the Moroccan High Atlas Mountains, known to be the gateway to the Sahara Desert. Its enormous Kasbah of Taourirt, housing a 19th century palace, offers a view of the surrounding rocky landscape, frequently featured in numerous films. To the northwest is the fortified red-earth city of Aït-ben-Haddou, while the rocky Toudra Gorge stretches to the northeast. A road winds southeast through the lush palm groves of the Drâa Valley Leading to the desert.

MIDELT

Midelt is a city situated in Morocco, positioned at the intersection of the Middle Atlas and Eastern High Atlas mountain ranges. It is home to approximately 60,000 inhabitants. Nestled at an altitude of 1,521 meters within the Atlas Mountains, Midelt experiences a mountain climate, characterized by frequent snowfall during the winter months. Due to its elevation, the area’s vegetation predominantly consists of mountain species such as firs and cedars, rather than the typical Mediterranean vegetation found at lower altitudes, which includes oak and olive trees.
